Exhibitions - Bailey will be taking part in the following: Poet's Path series felt work These pieces are part of a body of work based on 'The Poet's Path' in Dymock, West Gloucestershire. In the summer of 1914, just months before the First World War, several poets lived and worked around the village of Dymock, they were Lascelles Abercrombie, Rupert Brooke, John Drinkwater, Wilfred Gibson, Edward Thomas and the American poet Robert Frost. The Poet's Path is a walk that takes in three houses, or parts of houses, where the poets and their families, lived at that time. It was a good time for the writers, who's worked flourished in the rural surroundings. It was short and productive. Lines from the poems have been used for titles and the text used on the front of the work. All work is dyed, pieced, handmade felt made from local wool sourced from the village of Pauntley, which is near Dymock, both of which are 5 miles from where I live. With dyed and printed cotton lettering, appliqué, machine stitch and additional hand stitch.
